Not So Non-Fictional Smoothie (Test Post)
Ingredients
1 ogre thumb, 2.5 inches thick
3 bundles of fairy hair
2 bundles of foraged mint
4 cups wild strawberries
2.5 cups ice, finely grated
1 cup milk
1 tsp. nutmeg
2-3 Servings
24 Hrs to Prep
5-10 Mins to Cook
24.5 Hrs Total
Instructions
The night before…
- Submerge the bundles of hair in a large mixing bowl full of boiling water. Soak for 24 hours. When ready, it should be the consistency of fine cotton candy.
- While soaking the hair, make sure to thoroughly wash the thumb. Leave it in the sun until completely dry.
- Once dried, crush the thumb into a fine powder.
The day of…
- Place ice within the blender.
- When the ice begins to melt (just beginning), place the now-softened hair, the mint, and the milk within the blender. Pulse until the desired consistency and uniformity is reached.
- Introduce the remaining ingredients to the blender, and blend until the desired consistency and uniformity is reached.

Tips & Tricks
As I’m sure you can imagine given the contents of this post, this is merely a test. So alas, there are no true tips, nor tricks, to share with the world. That said, let’s have some fun with it!
- When collecting fairy hair, beware of the mushroom circles!
- The more glittery the hair, the harder it is to dissolve; however, the more glittery it is, the more nutritious. Either texture can make for a great smoothie! Just keep this in mind if you have any particular related, smoothie-drinking goals.
- Be careful when harvesting the thumb. Ogre’s are known to bite (and given the context here, who can blame them?).
- Nutmeg can be substituted with cinnamon, cocoa powder, and, in some cases, all spice!
